FAQ's
"Fantastic customer service. Very friendly and she went above and beyond to make sure my order was exactly what I wanted, even though I didn't quite know what I was doing. She was very quick in responding and very patient with my inexperience." ...posted 5/30/08 on HC shop (please note: we no longer offer embroidery on diapers)
Where's my stuff coming from? TOP
Items generally ship from my location in northeast Georgia, though occasionally an item may drop-ship from one of my colleagues.
We have a non-smoking, dog-friendly home. I make every effort to ensure that no dog hair gets on any of my products, but you may find a stray dog hair from time to time. If anyone in your family has allergies to pet dander, please be sure to wash your items well before use. What is your refund policy? TOP
I will take returns on unwashed, unused items within 15 days of purchase. Shipping is not refundable, and return shipping is the Buyer's responsibility. Please email me to let me know you're returning an item, and the reason. Refunds will be posted only after the item is received, so please BE SURE to purchase tracking on your package—I am not responsible for the item until it arrives in my mailbox.
If you have a problem with an item that is covered by a manufacturer's warranty on a brand for which I'm a certified retailer, I can assist you in making that claim during the time periods in which the warranty is active.
Smarty Pants Diapers is a licensed retailer of Happy Heiny's and Green Acre Designs diapers and covers. Products from these manufacturers come to you with the normal manufacturer's respective warranties--please check manufacturers' websites for details. Please contact me with any issues or concerns. Our liability ends with replacing or repairing the item, at my discretion.
Items for which I am not a certified retailer (such as shirts, caps, hats, blankets, etc.) have no additional warranty. Items which I officially retail are represented by the manufacturer's logo posted on my site.
Be sure to keep your receipt! How much do you charge for shipping? TOP
Shipping is $3.00 to anywhere in the continental US, $4.00 to CAN, AK and HI, and free to the US or Canada for orders over $25. This is for your whole purchase, regardless of how large or small. Occasionally, I offer free shipping on select items, or as a special discount. I will also ship to other countries if you will pay for the extra shipping fees. I usually purchase tracking on packages where that is an option, but my liability ends with my efforts to help you locate a lost package. If you want insurance on the package, be sure to add it!!
I will also ship to other countries if you'll pay for the extra shipping. Be aware that shipping at "the cheapest rate" means there will be no tracking on the package. I purchase a 'certificate of mailing' at my own expense, and I am not responsible for packages when shipping internationally. If you want shipping and/or insurance, the package must be shipped at the next higher level, which is generally about $18 (this amount may change with the new postal rates). What payment methods do you accept? TOP I take PayPal. You can use funded or non-funded PayPal accounts for your purchases, which means you can use your credit or debit card through PayPal if you choose.
I also take RME. To pay via RME, check out as usual, and choose RME as your payment method. Enter your RME email address. You can send RME directly to smartypantsdiapers at yahoo dot com, or I can send you a RME invoice for the amount due. RME payments are expected within 48 hours of my sending the RME invoice, or your order will be canceled. Will I have to pay sales tax? TOP Georgia residents are automatically charged a 4% sales tax through PayPal's system. Whooo are you? Who, who? Who, who? TOP
Okay, can you tell I've spent wa-a-a-ay too many late nights nursing at all hours and watching mindless TV? LOL ;o)
In all seriousness, I'm just your typical WAHM looking for something to engage my mental and creative energy while I'm chasing after kiddies, doing laundry, cleaning house, and losing sleep. ;)
It's amazing how much more energy one has for the daily grind when there's something to look forward to. Bon bons and daytime soaps just don't cut it for me, so instead, I'm busy creating potty humor for diapers. Pretty mature, huh?
But, as I'm sure you know, anything that makes diaper changing a little more entertaining, is worth its weight in gold. It doesn't matter that your whole family thinks you've lost your marbles because you're starting a business in the midst of night-time feedings, homeschooling, piano lessons, T-ball games, and--did I mention it yet?--laundry (that NEVERENDING chore).
I just keep my motto plastered to the front of my head, where everyone can see it:
"If they're not calling you 'crazy', you're not doing it right."
I hope the fruit of my inane fascination with the cloth that covers my kid's bum strikes a ray of sunshine through the mental fog that all of us mamas wallow through in those first few years. If a smarty-pants diaper makes you smile, be sure to let your little one see that smile, so you can get a priceless, toothless grin in return. It'll brighten your day. What special care is required for embroidered items? TOP PLEASE NOTE: We no longer offer embroidery for products sold through this site. Thanks for your understanding!
I use a polyester thread, which holds up better to the heavy use and intense washing that children's clothes often require. However, you should be careful not to use too much bleach, and be careful not to snag the threads. Carefully review washing instructions for each type of item as well. As a general rule, I suggest washing any colored item in cold water the first time, to help ensure colorfastness.
On the diapers, there is a "pocket" of PUL on the inside which envelopes the stitches and helps prevent wicking. Try not to pull on the PUL pocket!
On the back side of the T-shirt embroidery is usually an ironed-on layer to prevent itching for baby's sensitive skin. Most babies will not be bothered by the backside of the embroidery if this layer comes off, but feel free to let me know if it needs to be replaced. You can buy some more lining inexpensively at Wal-Mart and iron it on yourself, or you can send it back to me and I'll be happy to apply some more liner. |
